The Answer

How can this be?  How has it come about?

1. The basics of teaching were the same century after century during the entire recorded history of education, around two and a half thousand years, until around the 1960s, a little earlier in parts of the world such as the USA.  Then, without any consultation, and certainly no discussion with parents, the entire system of education, including the teaching of every single subject without exception, was overturned.

2. Subject-centred education, making sure that every child had a systematic knowledge of every basic subject, and the ability to learn new subjects, thanks to having acquired the ability to concentrate, to memorise and to solve problems, was replaced by what is technically known as child-centred education.

No teacher now teaching anywhere in the world teaches as it used to be done everywhere in the world, except us.  It is as simple as that.

And the difference is dramatic. And that applies to the teaching of every single subject without exception.
